Air fryers are one of the best kitchen appliances that can help you make great and healthy food fast! They’re popular because they’re able to cook crispy food with less oil. But one thing that many people struggle with is cleaning up after you've used the air fryer. (It can be messy and annoying sometimes.) Luckily there is an easy trick to make cleanup a whole lot easier: tin foil! They say tin foil is one of my best friends in the kitchen. Here in this guide, we will elaborate how tin foil can assist you when you are cooking in your air fryer and enhance your cooking experience.
This is a great way to prevent food from sticking to the air fryer basket, using tin foil. Food sticking can make for tough cleaning, and no one wants a messy kitchen! All you need to do to prevent this is line the basket with a piece of tin foil before you add the food. It acts as a barrier, preventing food particles from adhering to the basket. It makes cleaning up a lot easier once you’re done cooking.
Well, aside from the cleanliness factor that tin foil provides, it can also help to prevent your meals from burning. If you are preparing the delicate items such as fish or vegetables, you can cover them with a sheet of tin foil. This will prevent them from browning too much, or overcooking, while they air fry. Which helps make sure that your food comes out perfectly cooked, every time!
Consider a drip tray: Certain foods, such as chicken or potatoes, may give off oil or juice as they roast. This causes a mess in the basket. To avoid that, you can build a drip tray by bending the edges of a piece of tin foil up to make a lip around the edges. Put this tray in the basket and place your food on it. If you drip any oil or juice, it will drain into the tray, making cleanup super easy!
Make a lid: Occasionally, you will need to cover your food as it cooks, but no matching lid will exist. No worries! You can easily craft one using tin foil. You just mold a piece of tin foil over the basket’s top. This serves as a temporary lid, trapping moisture and facilitating uniform heating in your food.
For cooking chicken wings: Take a piece of tin foil and poke holes in it using a fork to ensure chicken wings cook evenly. Place the foil in the basket and the wings on top. These holes will enable hot air to circulate around the wings, ensuring that they cook evenly and achieve a nice-crispy texture.
Homemade pizza: You can even make homemade pizza in your air fryer! Place a round piece of tin foil in the basket. Next place your pizza dough over the foil and add your favorite toppings — cheese, pepperoni, veggies. The tin foil allows the crust to be cooked evenly, and prevents any cheese or toppings from sticking to the basket.
